Those people with diabetes always has the risk of having heart problems and stroke.

Diabetes is known as a disease in which the body either lacks insulin or doesn’t produce enough insulin to break ingested glucose into cells. And because of this, the glucose stays in your blood stream and damage veins and arteries. A high concentration of glucose in the blood is termed as hyperglycemia and is often a precursor to major heart problem and stroke. Individual who have diabetes have twice the chance of having a heart attack and stroke than those without this condition.

Together with diabetes itself becoming threat for a major heart problem and stroke, there exists other risk issues that people with diabetes ought to be aware of in order to decrease their tendency for a heart attack and stroke. This including excess obesity. Researches by American Middle Organization have indicated that obesity itself is a threat for major heart problem, carrying excessive fat across the waist raises ones likelihood to heart attack. This is because of the fact that belly fat raises negative cholesterol levels greater than fat on other parts of the body.

People with diabetes should monitor their cholesterol carefully. It is because the blood vessels are already weakened by the high concentration of glucose in the blood stream, individuals with diabetes have to be especially careful about their own levels of cholesterol as their arteries could become blocked more easy than those without diabetes. Controlling the level of cholesterol is vital for every individual, but even more imperative for people with diabetes.

Hypertension is especially dangerous for those having diabetes and might lead to major heart problem. Damaged veins and arteries having to perform harder to pump the blood from your heart throughout your body and this might lead to heart problem, stroke and eye problems.

Clearly, individuals who have diabetes should never only cautiously watch over the disorder, but also the complications that might arise from diabetes. While it is important for everybody to check their blood pressure, the level of cholesterol and maintain an ideal body weight, it is even more important for someone who has diabetes.

How to reduce the risk of heart problems for diabetes sufferer?

In order to reduce the risk of a heart problem and stroke for those who have diabetes, it is necessary to adapt healthy food diet, healthy living lifestyle and taking your medication, by doing these, it is possible to maintain a normal glucose level in the blood and thus reduce your risk of heart problem and stroke.
By equipping yourself with the knowledge on how to manage diabetes and also complying the instructions of your physician, you can live long and healthy even you have diabetes. But for whomever who make excuses and refuse to adhere to advice, who prefer to have a diet whatever they like, who adapt to a sedentary life style and also those who pretends the fact that the disease does not exist are those who put themselves at the most risk.

Type II diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions in the United States. It does not have to be a killer. Individuals who follow instructions, learn about the disease and comply with their physicians have a good chance at reducing the risk of acquiring any of the complications linked to this disease. their specialist posses splendid risk at lessening different plans likelihood of purchasing any one of the complications linked with this ailment. In conclusion, despite the link between diabetes, heart attack and stroke, individuals who maintain healthy food and life style can overcome these sufferings.

Anemia is a condition where your blood has a lower than normal of red blood cells or red blood cells do not contain enough hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a red, iron-rich protein that gives the red color to blood. Hemoglobin in the red blood cells transports oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body. Our body cells use this oxygen to fuel the combustion (burning) of sugar and fat which is source of energy to our body. During this process carbon dioxide is created as a waste product. The red blood cells then transport the carbon dioxide back to the lungs. We exchange this carbon dioxide for fresh oxygen by breathing. Anemia occurs when the red blood cells do not carry enough oxygen to the tissues of the body.

Causes for anemia

There are few underlying causes for anemia, such as blood loss, impaired red blood cell production and in some cases, red blood cells are destroyed at an accelerated rate. Blood loss is the most common factor for anemia especially in patients with iron deficiency anemia or during heavy menstrual periods or even due to severe internal bleeding. Lack of red cell production might be inherited or acquired. Some babies are born without the capability to produce enough red blood cells such as those with aplastic anemia. Dietary habit that lacks of iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid might affect our body ability to produce enough red blood cells. In some inherited red blood cell disorder disease such as thalassemias, hemolytic anemia and sickle cell anemia will cause major destruction of red blood cells. Normal red blood cells have life expectancy of 4 months, but defects in red blood cell in these diseases will cause red blood cells dies faster.
The most common symptom of this disease is fatigue (feeling tired or weak). If you have this disease, it may seem hard to find the energy to do normal activities.
Other signs and symptoms of anemia include:
* Shortness of breath
* Dizziness
* Headache
* Coldness in the hands and feet
* Pale skin
* Chest pain
These signs and symptoms can occur because your heart has to work harder to pump oxygen-rich blood through your body.
Mild to moderate anemia may cause very mild symptoms or none at all.
Types of anemia
# Aplastic anemia
# Blood loss anemia
# Cooley’s anemia
# Diamond-Blackfan anemia
# Fanconi anemia
# Folate- or folic acid-deficiency anemia
# Hemolytic anemia
# Iron-deficiency anemia
# Pernicious anemia
# Sickle cell anemia
# Thalassemias

Gout is a painful swelling and inflammation of the joints caused by the build up of uric acid crystals in the joints. Gout is one of the most typical arthritis forms which usually appear as an acute attack. Gout is one of the most painful rheumatic diseases. It results from deposits of needle-like crystals of uric acid in connective tissue, in the joint space between two bones, or in both. This uric acid leads to inflammatory arthritis, which causes swelling, redness, heat, pain, and stiffness in the joints. Uric acid is a substance that results from the breakdown of purines, which are part of all human tissue and are found in many foods. Normally, uric acid is dissolved in the blood and passed through the kidneys into the urine, where it is eliminated. If the body increases its production of uric acid or if the kidneys do not eliminate enough uric acid from the body, levels of it build up in the blood (a condition called hyperuricemia).

Hyperuricemia also may result when a person eats too many high-purine foods, such as liver, dried beans and peas, anchovies, and gravies. Hyperuricemia is not a disease and by itself is not dangerous. However, if excess uric acid crystals form as a result of hyperuricemia, gout can develop. The excess crystals build up in the joint spaces, causing inflammation. Gout occurs in approximately 840 out of every 100,000 people. It is rare in children and young adults. Adult men, particularly those between the ages of 40 and 50, are more likely to develop gout than women, who rarely develop the disorder before menopause.

The good news is gout is preventable by controlling your daily diet. Here are the 5 tips of role of diet for gout sufferers.

1. Lose weight gradually. Many people who have gout are obese; losing weight-especially fat around the abdomen-often prevents future attacks. Weight loss should be gradual, however, because a rapid reduction can raise blood level of uric acid and provoke gout. Fasting increases the blood levels of uric acid, therefore, people with gout should never try to skip meals. High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets should be avoided since these diets encourage the formation of ketones, metabolic by-products that hamper the body’s ability to excrete uric acid.

2. You may have to modify your drug therapy. Sometime gout is brought on by using aspirin or diuretics for high blood pressure. This medicine may interfere with normal kidney function and the elimination of uric acid. Your doctor may change treatment if you experience severe joint paint while on a drug therapy.

3. Avoid foods that are high in purines. Foods with a high content of naturally occurring chemicals called purines promote overproduction of uric acid in people with a tendency for gout. High-purine foods include anchovies, sardines, liver, kidneys, brains, meat extracts, herring, mackerel, scallops, game, beer, and red wine; these should be avoided completely. Moderately high purine content is found in whole-grain cereals, wheat germ and wheat bran, oatmeal, dried beans and peas, and mushrooms; eat these in moderation.

4. Consume plenty of liquids. Try to drink at least 2 liters of plain water a day to dilute urine and prevent kidney stone formation. Beer and wines should be avoided as these beverages are high in purines and interfere with the elimination of uric acid. People suffers from gout can opt for distilled alcohols in minute amount. Gout sufferers should drink only distilled alcohols in small amounts. Caffeinated beverages such as coffee also can also increase the production of uric acid and further impair its removal from the body.

5. Eat fish rich in omega-3s. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish have been found to reduce pain and inflammation in people with rheumatoid arthritis and may have a similar benefit in gout, but this may be countered by the purine content of the fish.

People suffers from gout also may have hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood cholesterol. Counseling by a registered dietitian may help in designing appetizing, healthful meals that strike a balance between these health concerns and the enjoyment of food.

Frequent use of deodorant or antiperspirants can cause breast cancer? This claim however is not supported by strong scientific evidence. Till now, there are no strong epidemiological studies done to prove the association of deodorant with breast cancer.

A study in 2002 looked for links between antiperspirant use and breast cancer in 1,500 women. The researchers found that neither antiperspirants nor deodorants increased breast cancer risk. These conclusions were based on interviews with 813 women with breast cancer and 793 women with no history of breast cancer. The result was published in The Journal of National Cancer Institute.

Most of us know that our body does not need aluminium. Aluminium is a poison to our body that serves no beneficial effect in our body. However, if you are a regular user of deodorant or antiperspirant, you might expose to this aluminium because aluminium is accounts for about 25% of deodorants or antiperspirants. Aluminium can form a temporary plug within the sweat duct that stops the flow of sweat to the skin’s surface. Darbre PD and his team of researchers suggest that aluminum-based compounds, which are applied frequently and left on the skin near the breast, may be absorbed by the skin and cause estrogen-like (hormonal) effects. Because estrogen has the ability to promote the growth of breast cancer cells, Darbre PD et al in their publication at Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry in year 2005 also suggested that the aluminum-based compounds in antiperspirants may contribute to the development of breast cancer.

A small study in 17 women with breast cancer was quite widely reported in the news in 2007. It found higher levels of aluminium in the part of the breast nearest the skin, and the authors speculated that aluminium in deodorants might cause breast cancer. But the design of this study was not strong enough to draw that conclusion. The number recruited for this study is rather small to draw conclusive resultSecondly, the researchers also did not compare levels of aluminium in these womens’ breasts to level in other parts of their bodies, or to levels in women who do not have breast cancer.

So, what is the conclusion? More established study with proper sample size should be conducted in order to solve this controversy.

Most overweight people go along with periods of dieting, then off dieting, slowly gaining and then losing a bit, while others continue to gain weight continuously until their Body Mass Index registers them as being in the overweight section of overweight.Additional problems are brought on by aging, they slow down using less energy to complete tasks, or skip them altogether. Exercising becomes more difficult due to loss of muscle tissue, (lowering our metabolic rate), aches and pains and reduced stamina.
With the tremendous increase in the percentage of overweight, let alone overweight statistics, there’s obviously millions of references and miracle cures around. Unfortunately in these articles, it can be seen that the truth is less dramatic.

So to start with, why are plenty of us so overweight?

Genetic
First there’s genetic differences when it comes to weight gain. Over two of our building block codes, or genes as they are known, are responsible for our metabolic rate, and for our desire to exercise. For example, two that has been discovered is called the FTO gene, and it regulates the amount of energy burned, without it more energy is spontaneously used for the same work.

Before birth and as babies
Weight gain problems can be initiated before you are born. In cases where the father is diabetic, smokes or has malnutrition and vitamin B deficiency, there is a greater chance of the kid growing up overweight.

In infancy
An early withdrawal off breast milk and replacement with a high calorie diet, including monosodium glutamate in kid formula, are indicators of future obesity.

As babies
Overweight parents have overweight babies. Babies are easily influenced. The misguided habit of providing babies with something to put in their mouths where ever they might be, shopping center, movies, beach, and the influence of peers under the same management will lead them unknowingly towards obesity. The school cafeteria looks like a speedy food joint filled with hamburgers, fries and pizza.

Lifestyles – food
Fast food today has never had a greater influence on the public, it is convenient, tasty and addicting. Popular outlets promote the habits and traits of overweight people who suffer from overeating. This is two of the most important causes of obesity. The food industry, fast food restaurants, and grocery stores make more funds on calorie rich foods than on unprocessed fruits and veggies.

Lifestyle – social trend
Fifty years ago people used to walk or cycle to work and most other places. Nowadays, the lifestyle of an individual has become increasingly sedentary as the years go by. The more technology advances, the more people sit at home all day doing nothing but staring at a screen, people would play computer games & watch tv in the comforts of their home. This and the fact that they do not control their food intake is another sizable reason why people become overweight.

Diet
This certainly goes under causes, read on. Recent research has shown that dieting is a major cause of obesity. While the long term success rate from dieting is less than seven percent, about 30 percent of dieters regain over they lose as a direct result of their dieting. Misleading promotion is, unfortunately, normal for the diet industry. The majority of diet food products tested for the New York state Consumer Protection Board contained more calories than listed on their package labels. 80 percent of the diet food products tested exceeded claimed calories, some by as much as 73 calories per serving. Added sugar has been found in 25% of orange juice brands described as pure & unsweetened.

Hormones
The hormone leptin signals to the brain (hypothalamus) that the body has had to eat, In a small percentage of people, there is a resistance to this signal that tells us that they have sufficient storage of overweight. Several studies have shown that fasting & low calorie diets lowers leptin levels. It might be that on short term leptin is an indicator of energy balance. This technique is more sensitive to starvation than to overfeeding. That is, leptin levels do not rise extensively after overfeeding. & in people who constantly over eat, this same resistance to the sufficiency signal develops. In order to restore this balance a drug, Fc-leptin is being developed. But this of coursework wont guarantee that in the long run the hypothalamus increases its resistance. Although they ought to not use theses causes as an excuse, they are certainly relevant. So it important that people understand whether they are going to be prone for weight gain in order to take steps to limit the effects before it is late.

This post shares about some facts about cancer, what cancerous cells feed on. The more you know about cancer, the more confident you can overcome it.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a.Sugar is ‘good friend’ of cancer cells. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. are made with Aspartame
and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.

b.Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened Soy milk cancer cells arebeing starved. Soy in Moderation.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d.A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e.Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties.Water-Best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

f. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refrain or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy
the cancer cells.

g. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Florescence,Essiac, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs, etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted,or unneeded cells.

h. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

i.Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level.Oxygen therapy is another means employedto destroy cancer cells.

This post shares about 10 facts on cancer. Do you know everyone of us has cancerous cells in our body? Keep reading it to know more about cancer, our enemy.

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. For a normal person, our body produce 100 to 200 cancer cells. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc., and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation does not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

10. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

There are many food that are able to fight cancer, this post shares 5 of the food that we consume regularly and proven to be able to fight cancer.

The first one - Broccoli, rich in various kinds of Vitamins, is well-known for its high anti-aging effect. Broccoli contains selenium that neutralizes active oxygen, and has anti-cancer function, so that it is highly effective for anti-aging. Moreover, it also contains Vitamin A and beta-carotene to strengthen skin resistance making your skin healthy, and contains two times as much Vitamin C, well-known for its whitening effect, as lemon and seven times as much as potato. Broccoli contain multiple cancer fighting chemicals (indoles for example). Indoles can affect estrogen, converting it to a benign form that will not stimulate abnormal cancer cells.

The second one is - Tomato. Tomatoes contain lycopene – an anticancer substance that some researchers suggest may be stronger than beta carotene. Lycopene is the red carotenoid found predominantly in tomatoes and in a few other fruits and vegetables such as watermelons, carrots.Claims have been made that lycopene may be beneficial in diseases such as cancer and coronary heart disease as well as other chronic conditions. Vitamin C , an antioxidant that can prevent cellular damage leading to cancer, is also found in tomatoes.

Garlic and onions

Garlic(Allium sativum) and onions(Allium cepa) are widely used around the world for its pungent flavour, as a seasoning or condiment or to enhance other flavours. Garlic and onions both contain allium compounds (diallyl sulfides). Allium is a powerful antibiotic and anti-fungal compound (phytoncide). It can increased the activity of the immune cells that fight cancer and indirectly help to break down cancer -causing substances. Garlic also able to fight cancer directly (ajoane chemicals) and it can stimulate body’s defense mechanisms. Onions also contain high amount of vitamin C.

Grapes – Grapes contain ellagic acid. Ellagic acid block enzymes that are necessary for cancer cells to grow, and slowing the growth of tumors. Grapes also contain compounds that can prevent blood clots. Another substance in grape skins (resveratrol) prevents the deposit of cholesterol in arteries.
Citrus fruits

Citrus contain limonene which stimulates cancer killing immune cells (T lymphocytes and others) . They also break down cancer causing substances. Oranges have shown strong anticancer properties. More than 60 anticancer chemicals are contained in citrus fruits. Lime and celery also fall into this category, though they are less potent.
